Denel Saab Aerostructures in South Africa has concluded an agreement with IAI to manufacture the elevators for the G150. They have also made investments to upgrade the composites facility and extend the production capability.
Recently Denel Saab Aerostructures concluded an agreement with IAI to manufacture the elevators for the G150. This is a result of their efforts to increase the business with IAI. The new business of the elevator means that they now will manufacture the complete empennage.
Extended production capability
One part of the composites facility upgrade is the new autoclaves. These will extend the composite's production capability in terms of capacity, necessary backup for acquired programs, and potential for parts manufacture of up to 13m in length. The autoclaves are capable of being pressurized to 10bars using air or nitrogen and can heat components for curing up to 200°C.
