Company News Brief - 4/2004

Welcome to this Farnborough issue of Company News Brief from Saab Aerostructures.

Summer has finally arrived in Sweden and now is the time for summer vacations which means possibilities to put efforts on family life and getting a period to rest to sustain a long autumn and winter. When I look back at the first half of 2004 I must say that it has been an exiting year so far. We have seen the Airbus A380 Final Assembly Line inauguration for the A380 in Toulouse and the launch of the Boeing 7E7 in Seattle. I think that all this is good signs and represents a belief in the future for this magnificent industry that continues to push the limits of the achievable.

Farnborough is coming up next week. This year Saab will, among other issues, put focus on unmanned aircraft. In the Company News Brief you can learn about how Saab Aerostructures will participate in the UCAV program NEURON. You will also learn that we will focus on customer and partner relations at this event. Do not hesitate to visit us in Chalet B 34-36 if you have the opportunity during the exhibition week.

Saab Aerostructures is participating in the design and production of NEURON

During Farnborough this year, Saab will focus on unmanned aircrafts (UAVs). Saab is working on a number of UAV projects, among others the cooperation with French Dassault on the UCAV (Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle) technology demonstrator program NEURON. In December 2003 a MoU was signed between Saab Aerosystems and Dassault with regards to participation in the project. Contract negotiations involving among other things distribution of the various work packages are now in progress. Saab’s involvement in the NEURON program involves different work packages. Saab Aerostructures will participate in airframe work packages.

Customer relations in focus for Saab Aerostructures

Farnborough Air Show is the largest aircraft exhibition of the year and all of the worlds leading aerospace companies will be on site in England. Six persons will represent Saab Aerostructures and focus will be on developing customer and partner relations.

Time for Farnborough

A very important exhibition takes place right in the middle of summer greenness and vacation times, and that is Farnborough Air show.
