Company News Brief - 1/2005

Welcome to the new edition of Saab Aerostructures Company News Brief.

I have already had the pleasure of introducing you to our newly signed contract on the Crew Entrance door for the A400M. In this issue our project leader tells you more about the project and what progress that has been made.

The A380 program, that had a grandiose reveal ceremony for the passenger version in mid January, is now peaking in the development of the freighter version. In this issue you can read more about the challenge we see in the development of the mid and outer fixed leading edge for the A380 freighter version.

Saab is one of few companies world wide that has the capability to develop and produce a fourth generation fighter aircraft on their own. Saab Aerostructures has the responsibility for design and production of the complete airframe for Gripen. Hungary is one of four countries who have chosen Gripen, and on January 25 Saab presented the first Gripen to be delivered to Hungary at a roll-out ceremony. This is of course of utmost importance for Saab as a whole and for Saab Aerostructures. Gripen, as well as Saab 340 and 2000, are the base for the deep knowledge that our engineers have in design and development of aerostructures.
