Company News Brief - 5/2005
Welcome to this new issue of Saab Aerostructures Company News Brief.
October has arrived, which doesn’t necessary means that winter is coming. Our friends in the southern hemisphere such as South Africa are looking forward to summer, but we have started to prepare our winter season which probably is less pleasant.

October thus so far has seen the launch of the Airbus A350 – this certainly will bring the battle between the two giants to a new level. I’m sure that as well as Boeing has been extremely successful with the 787 in capturing sales, Airbus have a strong competitiveness, not least by the commonality, which they carefully have developed over the time since the launch of the A320 family.
Saab Aerostructures are proud to announce that we now formally are a partner on the Boeing 787 program. As you can see in the article in this issue of our Company News Brief, we have the full responsibility for Cargo doors as well as Bulk Cargo Door and almost a handful of Access doors. For us this is a major achievement in building our future and fulfilling our strategic aims. The selection of The Boeing Company of Saab Aerostructures will strengthen ourselves and our ability to bring the market what we consider to be the future in aerostructures.
In this issue you also find an update on our new organization and the latest achievements in the multi-role fighter Gripen program, with production for the South African Air Force.
