Where do all those great ideas come from? At Saab they come from our non-hierarchical, creative working environment. We also believe in research and development, and we are convinced that our substantial annual investment in this area has everything to do with the fact that Saab is always at the technological forefront.

Saab’s annual investment in research and development is approximately twenty percent of our annual sales revenue, demonstrating our faith in technology and the search for new ideas and solutions.

Our research and development operation helps us to identify and understand the technological needs of today as well as tomorrow. It generates added value in all our products and systems, and it creates the conditions necessary for providing new knowledge and new business opportunities to our customers.

Our research and development currently focuses on future airborne systems like UAVs, tactical systems and systems providing network enabled capabilities.

The pioneering work done by our research and development people enables us to put theory into practice.
