History
Saab Barracuda is a business unit within the Saab Group since 1999.
Before that Alvis, Hägglunds and Incentive were among the owners. Founder and first owner was Carl Ekman, who started out by making nylon fish nets that were strong enough to hold a Barracuda – hence the company name.
Mr Ekman had a military background and with the heavy textile camouflage in fresh memory, he made a completely new plastic camouflage and the rest is history.

Over the years this product has been developed and designed, thanks to the skill and dedication of the Barracuda personnel, and made Saab Barracuda world leader in its field today with products and services way beyond Carl Ekman’s wildest imagination.
