2000-2003

A major international contract on MCTC is awarded to Saab Training Systems. A number of other international deals is also awarded.

2000

In 2000, Saab Training Systems won the first major international contract for a Mobile Combat Training Centre (MCTC). The contract was awarded by the Royal Netherlands Army. Simulator systems were developed for the German anti-tank helicopter PAH-1 with the HOT missile system and the British helicopter Lynx. The new radio range control system BT 24PX was launched on the market.



2001

In 2001, the Norwegian Army awarded Saab Training Systems the contract for NACMTC; Norwegian Army Combat Manoeuvre Training Centre for Camp Rena.The instrumented training system GAMER was purchased by the Italian Army to be installed at the Army Armour School in Lecce.Saab Training Systems was awarded the contract for BT46 simulator systems for the top attack antitank weapon BILL for Austria.

2002

In 2002, the Finnish Defence Forces awarded Saab Training Systems the KASI contract (CTS); a mobile instrumented combat training system. The final system tests were conducted on schedule for the Mobile Combat Training Center (MCTC) to be delivered to the Royal Netherlands Army. The UK support contract for the DFWES simulator systems was awarded Saab Training Systems. The contract included the systems used at Salisbury Plain, UK, at British Army Training Unit Suffield, Canada and at Sennelager, Germany. The Finnish Defence Forces order the Combat Training Systems (CTS).

2003

In 2003, Saab Training Systems, in partnership with Serco GmbH & Co, won the contract for running the German Army’s combat training centre GÜZ. The Saab part covered training, technical operations and support for all simulation equipment at the facility. The BT46 laser simulator systems for the NLAW, Next Generation Light Anti-Armour Weapon Programme, were delivered to the British Army.UK Ministry of Defence awarded Saab Training Systems the contracts UK Land Digitisation Work and BGTI Work ( Battle Group Thermal Imager).

The contracts included the update of previously delivered Saab BT 46 simulator systems to be compatible with the British Army new digital radio system BOWMAN and an integration of the simulator system with the new BGTI sight.Saab Training Systems was awarded a contract for the development of the Saab BT46 JAVELIN laser simulator. The development was a joint effort between Saab and Raytheon-Lockheed Martin Javelin Joint Venture, the prime contractor for delivery of the complete JAVELIN Combat Weapon and Training system to the British Army.Westland Helicopters Ltd., UK, awarded Saab Training Systems two contracts for helicopter laser simulation systems. The contracts included a new dual-laser unit for the Apache and a target weapon effects system for the Lynx AH MK7 helicopters.
