The urban environment is a battlefield that makes extreme demands on personnel and equipment.

It is a complex environment with multi-dimensional threats where troops often also have to keep civilians out of harm’s way.

Today, the ability to operate in urban environments is vital for a modern army, and soldiers must be prepared for challenges such as fast-changing three-block-scenarios and a set of new irrational and asymmetric threats.

This also calls for more flexible training solutions developed to meet the needs for tactical training in the urban environment. Solutions that allow your troops to train before as well as during missions and provide qualified tools for evaluation of the individual soldier as well as all combat teams.

Deployable training system

Saab’s highly deployable instrumented training system GAMER meets these demands and enables combined and tactical urban training. This is especially true of the GAMER Manpack – a small-scale instrumented training system suited in a backpack, allowing urban training from soldier level up to platoon level, almost anywhere.

From open to urban terrain

With our GAMER family systems, soldiers can seamlessly train the full spectrum of fire and maneuver from open to urban terrain, from individual level to platoon or battalion combat team size level.

The multi-technology keeps track of all players – people, vehicles, buildings and rooms – and provides realistic combined arms simulation for players indoors as well as outdoors. No wires or cables are required – the instrumentation is radio-based, and easy to install and handle.
