opportunities.

Saab’s commitments include the following:

Community Support

Saab contributes to employee training, health promotion, and employee social security, when national laws allow.

The Environment

Saab fosters sustainable development and promotes environmental protection, especially by following relevant laws. We expect our employees to share our responsibility. We seek to minimise the environmental impact of our plants, products, and services while still meeting commitments to our customers
and shareholders.

All Saab employees are expected to share this responsibility for environmental protection.

Specifically, Saab promotes environmental protection and sustainability by:
• implementing an environmental management system that meets ISO
14001:2004 requirements
• identifying and minimising products’ and operations’ environmental risks
• minimising the use and emissions of hazardous substances/materials and

Research and Development

Saab contributes to society as one of Sweden’s most research-intensive companies, with about 20% of Saab’s annual profits committed to R&D. These R&D efforts enhance the skills of our communities’ citizens, support university research and attract research investment. For example, Saab collaborates with universities and research institutes to contribute to Sweden’s hightechnological development. The company also collaborates through its state-of-the-art R&D efforts in its South Africa and Australia businesses.

Political issues

Saab does not align itself with political parties. In working with governments or international organizations, Saab sometimes has the duty to communicate on issues that affect the company and its employees, customers and shareholders. Saab’s CEO, personally or through a representative, is the only
employee authorized to communicate on these issues for Saab.
