Environment

Saab works actively with environmental concerns. Doing so requires that this work and the company’s environmental management systems are incorporated into day-to-day operations and existing management systems.

Integrated environmental management systems mean that the environmental work can be adapted to the specific conditions faced by Saab’s various business units and developed and improved in pace with the operations.

Long experience of environmental issues

The first environmental policy and program were established in the early 1980s. Among other things, this work has resulted in highly proactive safety and environmental control of chemical products, and an effective system for pre-sorting and handling waste products.

High-priority areas

Within Saab, the high-priority environmental issues are chemical management, energy efficiency and climate change, waste management, replacement of hazardous substances/materials, and compliance with safety, health and environmental regulations.
