Saab tour to meet Swiss industry kicks off
Defence and security company Saab, manufacturer of the Gripen E fighter aircraft, is meeting local industry representatives in ten different locations across Switzerland to present and discuss business opportunities in the Gripen E programme.

During 8 to 12 April, two Gripen will be flown from the Swiss airbase Emmen, near Lucerne. The flights take place at the request of the Swiss defence procurement authority armasuisse.
Sauter Bachmann receives order from GE Aviation
GE Aviation has placed a contract, valued at approximately 29 million CHF, with Sauter Bachmann, a Glarus company. From 2009 to 2012, GE Aviation – a partner of Saab – already procured engine components and equipment from various Swiss companies, valued at approximately 140 million CHF.
Swiss industry to become single supplier of major Gripen E components
Saab has taken the strategic decision to find Swiss companies to develop, produce and assemble major components of the Gripen E aircraft, including the rear fuselage. More than 35 per cent of the work will be placed in the French- and Italian-speaking regions. This will create business volume for Swiss industry of approximately 200 MCHF and more than 500,000 man hours of work.
Saab has signed an agreement with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for Gripen E

The agreement ensures that Gripen E will be developed, produced and delivered to Sweden and Switzerland in time and on budget. This means that it is also ready for delivery to the world market.
