A Saab 9LV CMS system comes with all the operational capability and functionality required by the ship’s Command.
General
9LV CMS is well suited for all types of platforms ranging from small patrol vessels up to large frigates. Saab can integrate any subsystem selected by the customer.
The system provides the ship and the command team with outstanding operational capabilities in support of all mission types, both in the open ocean as well as in littoral regions. Excellence in situational awareness and rapid precision tactical response in all warfare domains are highly appreciated features of the 9LV CMS. Asymmetric threats, as well as modern and estimated future threat types can be met effectively.
Support for interoperability and allied/coalition operations as a part of an international force, as well as command-team training, recording and debriefing are key characteristics of 9LV CMS. The user interface is also easy to tailor to each customer navy’s specific needs, while the manning concept is highly flexible.
System architecture
The use of a standard infrastructure based on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components enables Saab to focus on operational capabilities and integration to offer capable and cost-effective overall solutions.
Third-party HMI integration
The 9LVCMS provides a range of options for integration of the user interfaces of equipment/sub-systems e.g. through hosted vendor clients, web services, thin clients or fully-integrated human machine interfaces. The touch-input display with its soft keys can also be a shared resource. It can be easily used to control third-party equipment using DDS or web-services technology and it can also be accessed locally by hosted clients.
Advanced solution
The performance-based engagement-planning function for anti-air warfare, termed Air Defence Coordination (ADC), is much more than a normal threat-evaluation and weapon-assignment function. ADC is based on probability calculations and will optimise survivability by evaluating all possible threat-engagement combinations using all combinations of sensors and weapons, including ship manoeuvre.
